To restart yourVMware management agents on ESX 3.5, vSphere, vSphere4, 5
\nLog in to your ESX Server through SSH or directly from the server console
\nRun the following command to restart VMware Management agent<\/b>
\n#service mgmt-vmware restart.<\/b>

\nTo restart Virtual center agent<\/b>
\n#service vmware-vpxa restart.<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span>
\nTo Restart Web Access<\/b>
\n#service vmware-webAccess restart<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

You can restart the Host Management agent for the following Symptoms:<\/u><\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. Cannot connect ESX to VirtualCenter <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Cannot connect ESX to vCenter Server<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Cannot connect directly to ESX Server from the VMware Infrastructure Client\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Cannot connect directly to the ESX Server from the vSphere Client<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  5. You cannot stop or start a virtual machine<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  6. A virtual machine is shown as running in VirtualCenter when it is not<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  7. VirtualCenter shows the error:<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Virtual machine creation may fail because agent is unable to retrieve VM creation options from the host<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
