So we have to manually set the dynamic port range in the backup exec server.<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: black;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: black;\">To configure the dynamic port range manually, follow the below steps.<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: black;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: black;\">In the symantec backup exec go to<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: black;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: black;\"><b>Go to Tools &#8211;&gt; Options &#8211;&gt;\u00a0 Network Security <\/b>and check <b>Enable remote agent TCP dynamic port range<\/b><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: black;\">and specify the ports range manualy . Port range 31821-32829<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: black;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Linux iptables configuration for Symantec Backup Exec\" src=\"https:\/\/www.melberi.com\/linuxadmin\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2015\/10\/Backup-Exec-enable-Iptables.jpg\" alt=\"Linux iptables configuration for Symantec Backup Exec\" width=\"640\" height=\"312\" border=\"0\" \/><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: black;\"><\/div>\n<p>Restart the backup exec server<\/p>\n<p>Now\u00a0 login to the linux machine and enable access for this port range (31821-32829) and the Backup Exec agent<\/p>\n<p><strong>VRTSralus<\/strong> which is running on the port 10000 (default port for VRTSralus).<br \/>\nIf webmin is running on the port 10000, Edit \/etc\/webmin\/miniserv.conf and change the default port to 10001<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Enabling BackupExec Agent Port<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<b><\/b><br \/>\n<b>#iptables -A INPUT -p tcp &#8211;dport 10000 -j ACCEPT<\/b><br \/>\n<b>#iptables -A INPUT -p tcp &#8211;dport 32821:32829 -j ACCEPT<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Also you can manually edit and <strong>\/etc\/sysconfig\/iptables<\/strong> and add the below mentioned line<\/p>\n<p><b>-A INPUT -p tcp -m tcp &#8211;dport\u00a0 10000 -j ACCEPT <\/b><br \/>\n<b>-A INPUT -p tcp -m tcp &#8211;dport\u00a0 32821:32829 -j ACCEPT\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Now Save and restart iptables<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0# iptables-save &gt; \/etc\/sysconfig\/iptables<\/b><br \/>\nor<br \/>\n<b>#service iptables save <\/b><br \/>\n<b>#service iptables restart<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Linux Server iptables configuration for Symantec Backup Exec Agent Iptables Backup Exec Below you can find how to enable the backup exec agent ports on Linux iptables configuration.
