Samba Error message rlimit_max: increasing rlimit_max (1024) to minimum Windows limit (16384) in CentOS Fedora Redhat Ubuntu Debian and Suse Linux

Error:

While running testparm command, following warning message was printed.

#testparm
Load smb config files from /etc/samba/smb.conf
rlimit_max: increasing rlimit_max (1024) to minimum Windows limit (16384)

Solution:

edit /etc/security/limits.conf and add the following line

* – nofile 16384

and reboot the server.
