Income tax e-Filing Step by step Procedure individuals India (ITR 1)

Below you can find the Step by Step procedure of Income tax Online e-filing 2017-18

Income tax e-Filing Procedure

1) Login to the income tax e filing website using your username and password

URL is = https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/e-Filing/UserLogin/LoginHome.html

User name = your pan number,
password  = You have generated while registering

New users can use the below link and register their account details

2)Prepare and Submit Online ITR:

On the Main Menu Go to -> e-file -> Prepare and Submit Online ITR
Now Select
ITR Form Name -> ITR-1
Assessment Year       ->  2016-17
And Submit
This will open the ITR-1 Form

3) Filling the Form

You can see 5 Tabs in that form Instructions, Personal Information, Income Details, Taxes Paid and Verified, 80G
Read the Instruction and fill the income details referring your Form 16.
Personal Details may fill automatically and other mandatory detail can be filled manually

Once All the required fields were filled click on submit.

4) Generate-EVC

To generate EVC go to e-Filing ->Generate-EVC
This will show tow options and select any one of the option.

Option 1 – Generate e-Filling OPT
Option 2- Generate EVC Through Net Banking

In my case I selected option 2
This will show the below popup and click -> continue
Select your bank -> login to your online banking portal (SBI or any other bank)
Follow the procedure and your EVC will be sent to your Mobile number and Email ID

5) E-Verify Return

Now Go to  e-Filing -> E-Verify Return
and Enter the EVC receive in your mobile and submit

6) How to Open the file

Open the IVR pdf using the password (pan no + date of birth )
INDIAN INCOME TAX RETURN VERIFICATION FORM
File password – click here
Sign the form and send it to the address mentioned in the pdf
(If the form is digital signed, then no need to send the hard copy)
