What is the Maximum load of Single Phase and Three Phase Power Supply


In general single phase meter can handle up to 4.2 kW or 4200 watts or 6 Horse Power

But As per TNEB Terms and Conditions for supply of Electricity

Single-phase 2 wire : 240 volts between phase and neutral for supply, and total connected load not exceeding 4000 watts (4KW) (including power loads).

Three-phase 4 wire : 415 volts between phases and 240 volts between a phase and neutral for supply to a total connected load exceeding 4000 watts (4KW) but not exceeding a demand of 112 KW.

Three-phase 3 wire : 11,000 volts and above between phases for power installation exceeding a demand of 112 KW, the minimum demand however being 63 KVA

The consumer shall avail supply at 33 kV and above when the demand is 5 MVA and above.

Low Tension Supply:

Single phase 240 volts, 50 Hz A.C between phase and neutral.
Three-phase 415 volts 50 Hz A.C between phase

High Tension Supply:

Three-phase 50 Hz A.C, 11,000 volts, or 22,000 volts and 33,000 volts between phases whichever is available.

Extra High Tension Supply

Alternating current - 50 Hertz Three- phase 66,000 volts, 110,000 volts and 230,000 volts between phases whichever is available.
